Facebook timeline can you opt out

Managing Your Account. Privacy, Safety and Security. Your Privacy. Manage What You've Shared. Control Who Can Find You. Staying Safe. Keeping Your Account Secure. Shopping Safety. Policies and Reporting. How do I choose who can see previous posts on my timeline on Facebook? Go to your Timeline and look to the right. There will be a list of years — all of the years that you have been using Facebook and posting items, as well as any years that you or your friends have posted about for example, years people were born.

Click on the first year you started using Facebook. If you hide a bunch of posts at once, Facebook may ask you if you want to hide all of the posts from that year. Switch to your Timeline page to begin hiding other information from public view. Click the "Update Info" button to display the different categories of personal information in your About section, such as your employer, education, relationships and contact information.

Click the "Edit" button on each category, and then change the privacy settings for each item. Scroll down through all of the other sections displayed on the page, such as Photos, Friends, Likes, Books and Movies. On each section, click the pencil-shaped icon and select "Edit Privacy" from the drop-down menu, and then change the privacy settings to your liking.

In the Photos section, you must select the "Albums" link and then adjust the privacy of each individual album.
