This is a constantly changing exhibition with artists being invited to contribute. Karoonda now stands on part of that property. The town was named Karoonda because that was the name of the railway siding. It was, at this time, primarily a railway town.
It is said the grain silos can be seen from 7 km away. They are capable of storing 50, tonnes of grain. There is a useful and downloadable brochure, Karoonda Historic Walks , which covers most of the attractions in the town. There is also a specific local website. I lived there and I think back in it was the last town to have its Telstra exchange removed but this will need fact checking.
